Reaching Out to a College of Pharmacy
If you are interested in precepting “introductory pharmacy practice experience” (IPPE) rotations (typically 1-3 weeks in length or shadowing for 2nd and 3rd year students) or “advanced pharmacy practice experience” (APPE) rotations (typically lasting up to 6 weeks for 4th year students) begin by simply reaching out to a College of Pharmacy.
Which College of Pharmacy?
It makes sense to start with a College of Pharmacy located near you, but most Colleges of Pharmacy in Texas support experiential training at multiple regions across the state. Understand that some educational programs are restricted geographically, but can clarify that when contacted.
The quickest path to finding information about precepting with a Texas College of Pharmacy is the TSBP website Preceptor CE page or contacting the experiential program for the College of Pharmacy as follows:
• Texas Colleges of Pharmacy
• The sites typically list preceptor requirements, forms, and contacts.
• A simple e-mail or phone call to a College of Pharmacy’s office for experiential training should be enough to get the ball rolling.
