Diana Cauley
Diana H. Cauley, PharmD, BCOP

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Diana H. Cauley, PharmD, BCOP, is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology, Division of Pharmacy at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC).

Dr. Cauley received B.A. degrees in International Business management and Spanish from the Oregon State University. She later received both her B.S. in Pharmacy degree and her Pharm.D. from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She subsequently completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at the University of California, San Francisco and an oncology ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at MDACC. She is certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties Board as a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist.

Dr. Cauley's clinical and research interests focus on genitourinary cancers, particularly bladder cancer, renal cell carcinoma, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. She holds professional memberships with the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties and the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA). She also is member of several institutional committees at MDACC, including the Clinical Medication Safety Committee, and the Cancer Pain Management Workgroup. She also serves as a Preceptor for the ASHP-Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program at The University of Texas and the University of Houston.

Bradi Frei
Bradi Frei, PharmD, MSC, BCOP, BCPS

Oncology Clinical Specialist / Hematology & Oncology Specialty Task Force Chair

Dr. Frei completed her Pharmd degree in 2001 and Master's in pharmacy research in 2003 from The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Frei is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, ASHP, and TSHP. She has served on several national committees within the respective organizations and is a Fellow of TSHP. Her contributions to TSHP include serving as president of her local TSHP chapter, a member of TSHP Board of Directors, and Treasurer of TSHP Research and Education Foundation. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and Board Certified Oncology Specialist. Her areas of interest include leadership, teaching, breast cancer, pain, and palliative and supportive care of patients receiving treatment for cancer. Dr. Frei works at University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy in San Antonio as a Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Her practice site is Breast Cancer Clinic at UT Health, Mays Cancer Center, MD Anderson San Antonio.

Joshua Hendrickson
Joshua Hendrickson, PharmD

Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Dr. Joshua Hendrickson is an infectious diseases clinical pharmacy specialist at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is originally from Michigan and completed pharmacy school at Ferris State University. For post-graduate training, Dr. Hendrickson has completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Memorial Hospital of South Bend in South Bend, IN, and a two-year infectious diseases fellowship through Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the University of Houston College of Pharmacy in Houston, TX. He is one of five ID pharmacists at MDACC who works with infectious diseases consult services that cover solid and hematological malignancies, including separate leukemia and stem cell transplantation/cellular therapy services.

Justin Horowitz
Justin Horowitz, PharmD, BCOP

Clinical Pharmacist

Dr. Horowitz is a clinical pharmacist at UT Health – Mays Cancer Center in San Antonio, Texas. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas and received his doctorate of pharmacy at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in 2015. Following graduation he completed his PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, and went on to complete his PGY-2 in hematology/oncology at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center. After completing his residency, Dr. Horowitz returned to San Antonio, Texas as the oncology pharmacy manager for Methodist Hospital and later also oversaw the pediatric oncology service-line at Methodist Children’s Hospital. During that time he was the inpatient hematology/oncology, stem cell transplant and CAR T-cell clinical pharmacist, overseeing over 200 transplants each year. His primary research focus is regarding salvage therapies for acute myelogenous leukemia and antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases in immunocompromised hosts. As education and precepting is a strong passion of his, Dr. Horowitz was recently the recipient of the prestigious William Arlyn Kloesel Outstanding Preceptor of the Year Award from the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in 2021. After five strong years of service with Methodist and Methodist Children’s Hospital, he is now a hematology/oncology clinical pharmacist with Mays Cancer Center in San Antonio, Texas, and will be assisting with the development of a new hematopoietic stem cell transplant and CAR T-cell program.

Randy Martin
Randy Martin, PharmD, BCCCP, BCSCP, CPPS

TSHP President, Lead Clinical Pharmacist

Randy Martin currently serves as President for the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists and a Texas delegate to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ House of Delegates. Randy has been active with TSHP since 2004 and served on the Board of Directors since 2018. Randy is also active with Texas Pharmacy Congress, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the American Society of Pharmacy Law. Randy is Lead Clinical Pharmacist at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth and Associate Professor of Medical Education at Texas Christian University. He also provides independent consultant services as an expert in pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and pharmacy law. Randy received his PharmD from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and MHA from Louisiana State University at Shreveport. He holds board certification in critical care pharmacy (BCCCP), sterile compounding (BCSCP), and patient safety (CPPS). Randy has delivered 50+ hours of continuing education for pharmacists and physicians and written over a dozen publications focusing on practice advancement and the training of future pharmacists and technicians.

Chris Selby
Christopher Selby, PharmD, BCOP

Assistant Professor – Division of Adult Medicine; Director – PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency

Dr. Selby is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Adult Medicine Division, at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy in Dallas, TX and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Medical Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Selby received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville School of Pharmacy. He then completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency and a PGY-2 Oncology Residency at University Health Shreveport and University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, respectively. Dr. Selby's current teaching responsibilities include pharmacotherapy topics centered around oncology, the advanced oncology elective, clinical correlations, and experiential training of 3rd and 4th year pharmacy students, in addition to 1st and 2nd year pharmacy residents.

Astrid Slaughter
Astrid Slaughter, PharmD

Pharmacy Manager

After Dr. Slaughter finished pharmacy school, she obtained a doctorate degree studying novel histone-modifying enzymes as new cancer drug targets and was able to gain more insight during her postdoctoral fellowship at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Slaughter has worked for 8 years at Texas Oncology now and was recently promoted from pharmacy manager to area pharmacy manager. She enjoys working with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from all over the state and providing guidance to them. Caring for oncology patients means a lot to Astrid and she would like to ensure that her patients receive the best care possible. Education is very important in the oncology field, and she values every opportunity to participate.

Scott Soefje
Scott Soefje, PharmD, MBA, BCOP, FCCP, FHOPA

Director, Pharmacy Cancer Care Services

Scott Soefje is the Director, Cancer Care Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic and an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, MN. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin and then after almost five years of hospital practice, he returned to earn a PharmD from the joint program at UT Austin and The UT Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He stayed in San Antonio to complete an ASHP accredited Specialty Residency in Oncology Pharmacy at the South Texas Veterans Hospital and then a Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship at the U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He has obtained an MBA focusing on healthcare from The George Washington University. He is Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy. He is a past president of the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA). He has been recognized as a Fellow of ACCP and HOPA.

He has a breath of pharmacy experience from academia to clinical practice to industry to cancer care administration. In his current role, he oversees the cancer care service line for the pharmacy at Mayo Clinic. He is focused on operational efficiencies, developing the role of the pharmacy in clinics, expanding the educational opportunities for student and residents in cancer care, and supporting cancer care research.
