Calling all Judges and Volunteers

The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) annually hosts competitions for our students and new practitioners. The competitions are open and now available for applicants.

We need your help as judges and volunteers!

Now seeking judges for the Clinical Skills Competition, Disease State Management, Poster Competition, and Leadership Competition.

Judges assist in a variety of ways, from the development of cases, to live competitor observation and scoring.

If you are interested in acting as a judge or volunteer for any of our competitions, please complete the application form linked below. Selected judges are offered complimentary registration to attend the TSHP Annual Seminar. Thank you for your support of the future of Texas pharmacy!

TSHP CSC

Clinical Skills Competition (CSC) is a team-based analysis of clinical scenarios for hospital and health-system pharmacists. It provides student pharmacists the opportunity to enhance their skills in providing direct patient care. This statewide competition helps prepare participants to compete on a national scale.

TSHP DSMC

The Disease State Management Competition (DSMC) is an interactive, team-based competition for student pharmacists to collaborate in analyzing a patient case and practice their clinical thought process. The competition is designed to mimic real-world pharmacy practice. Participation is a great way to practice delivering comprehensive disease-state management efficiently under time restraints and use communication skills to collaborate with health-care professionals. This statewide competition helps prepare participants to compete on a national scale.

Poster Competition

The TSHP Research & Education Foundation Poster Session and Competition occurs each year at the TSHP Annual Seminar. The poster session is an opportunity for Seminar registrants to display original scholarly work in poster format. Posters can compete in one of seven categories or display without participating in the competition.

Leadership Challenge Competition

As pharmacists, we are leaders in all professional settings, and the Leadership Challenge Competition is designed to help students further explore their roles as leaders in the healthcare field. This competition is a great opportunity to collaborate with classmates and present your ideas to potential employers.

About Annual Seminar

TSHP’s Annual Seminar is the largest educational and networking meeting of pharmacists, new practitioners, students, technicians, and industry professionals in Texas. With a focus on quality patient care and medication safety, registrants may select from more than 40 hours of live programming this year. TSHP Annual Seminar programs are designed to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of pharmacy professionals in health-systems across Texas.
