Sondra Davis, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, CPPS
Statement:
It is an honor to be considered as a candidate for President-Elect Designee of TSHP. In 2000, I began my career as a pharmacy technician and later graduated from Midwestern University College
of Pharmacy in Glendale, Arizona. I am the Director of Pharmacy and co-Ethics & Compliance Officer at Medical City Arlington. Over the past few years, I have been fortunate to be involved with TSHP on multiple Councils
such as the Membership Council, Professional Affairs Council, and most recently Educational Affairs Council where I was able to serve as Chair. In my service, I have sought to promote pharmacy practice and innovation. These
experiences as well as being guided and mentored by TSHP leadership and members have provided me with a greater appreciation and understanding of the organization. The professional value, which TSHP is able to offer is
invaluable and multifaceted. If elected, I would be able to contribute to a forum where Residents, Students, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Healthcare Professionals are able to further develop themselves, network,
and advance our profession. I believe my career within pharmacy that has ranged from Pharmacy Technician, Clinical Pharmacist, Clinical Coordinator, Residency Program Director, and Director of Pharmacy has provided me with
the necessary skills needed to be successful as President-Elect Designee for TSHP. If selected for the position, I will strive to advance pharmacy practice and meet the needs of our members.

ELECTED - Kirk Evoy, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CTTS, FCCP
Statement:
TSHP, and my local San Antonio chapter CTSHP, have provided invaluable opportunities to develop relationships with outstanding Texas pharmacy leaders. I would be honored to give back by serving
as the TSHP President. Throughout my career, I have been actively involved at the local (nine years on the CTSHP Board of Directors, including three years as President), state (six years on the TSHP Board of Directors,
including Organizational Affairs Council Chair, Annual Seminar Chair, and many other committee roles), and national levels (two years representing Texas on the ASHP House of Delegates).
Given my diverse professional
experiences, I bring a variety of perspectives and represent the interests of several groups. As a San Antonio-based, UT Austin faculty, I have a pulse on the interests of San Antonio- and Austin-area pharmacists. Furthermore,
having previously worked six years working in a community pharmacy and completing an inpatient residency prior to my career as an ambulatory care pharmacist within University Health and an academician and residency director
at UT, I bring a big picture view of the profession and understand concerns of many pharmacy fields. My organizational and leadership skills, past CTSHP/TSHP experience, and public speaking and writing experience would
be assets as President and in efforts to communicate the interests of Texas pharmacists.
My primary motivation behind pursuing a career in academia was the opportunity to have a positive impact on healthcare
and the profession beyond my personal patient interactions. Active involvement in TSHP offers a tremendous extension of this goal.
Biography:
Kirk Evoy currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at University Health in San Antonio. In
this role he also directs an ambulatory care residency program. He is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BC-ACP), Advanced Diabetes Manager (BC-ADM), and Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) and a Fellow of the
American College of Clinical Pharmacy (FCCP).
Kirk is actively involved in local, state, and national pharmacy organizations and volunteers much of his time to community service initiatives. He directs pharmacy
student volunteers within a free clinic in a San Antonio homeless shelter, leads overdose harm reduction efforts, dispensing naloxone and providing numerous opioid overdose response trainings throughout Texas, and serves
as a Stop the Bleed trainer, having educated more than 2,000 teachers and students regarding bleeding control measures in response to a shooting event.
Kirk has received a number of teaching, research, and
mentorship awards and has been recognized as an Outstanding Young Alumnus from his alma mater, Purdue University, at both the College of Pharmacy and University levels. His research, which focuses primarily on substance
use disorders, has yielded 16 funded grants and more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, as well as national recognition from ASHP, ACCP, and AACP, including New Investigator Awards from ACCP and AACP, and three Paper of
the Year awards from ASHP and ACCP.

Binita Patel, PharmD, MS, CPEL
Statement:
The field of pharmacy stands at a critical juncture- facing a shortage of pharmacy technicians and an increasing number of graduating pharmacists with the demand for pharmacists remaining stagnant,
particularly in traditional roles. In this pivotal moment, it is of utmost importance to have leaders who are willing to push boundaries, advocate for pharmacists, and expand our profession's horizons.
In my
capacity as the Vice President of Pharmacy Services for the largest non-profit health system in southeast Texas, I bring the capability to champion our profession by consistently emphasizing the value of pharmacists. Pharmacists
are undeniably the most qualified clinicians to address patients' pharmaceutical needs. I am committed to providing this kind of leadership at the state level, as having a stronger presence in state government is crucial
for the advancement of our profession.
As legislative policies are being formulated and debated, it is essential to have a leader who can effectively communicate the significance of pharmacists to lawmakers.
I intend to collaborate closely with the Texas Healthcare Association, fellow health-system leaders, and all stakeholders to ensure our voices are heard and our value is recognized and supported.
I humbly request
your consideration as your choice for President-Elect, where I can serve as your advocate during this transformative period in healthcare. Texas is going to need folks who are willing to challenge the status quo, think
innovatively, and, above all, prioritize patient care. I aspire to do just that for the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians of Texas.
