PAC gets TSHP President's support

For over 75 years, the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy has supported cost effective and appropriate quality patient care in Texas hospitals and healthcare systems.

Through our Political Action Committee (PAC), TSHP will give to candidates who have demonstrated their support for health-system pharmacy practice. Candidates should be aligned with our members’ dedication to improving healthcare access, quality, patient safety, and affordability for all Texans. Our legislative agenda for the 2027 session will include:

• Medication histories conducted by pharmacy staff
• Prescriptive authority under protocols
• Expanding the PREP Act
• Drug therapy management
• Immunizations by pharmacists
• Technician Product Verification
• Medication histories performed by technicians
• Pursuit of authorization for reimbursement for clinical services
• A pharmacy technician on the Board of Pharmacy
• Limit use of white-bagging in hospital or clinical settings
