The hard work of TSHP members this past year is to be commended. TSHP’s 2024 awards have been announced. Winners were recognized at the TSHP Annual Seminar April 6 in Round Rock, Texas. Each year, TSHP notes outstanding individuals and organizations within our community for excellence and a commitment to advancing healthcare and pharmacy practice in Texas. The awardees are selected by the TSHP Board of Directors based on nominations submitted by TSHP members. Glenda Lawson McRee Pharmacy Student Award Presented to: Esther L. Albuquerque Award Criteria: Demonstrates a commitment to the profession through service, practice, education or research.
Industry Service Award Presented to: Rick Ulasewich Award Criteria: Demonstrates professionalism, support for and participation in the programs of TSHP, leadership in pharmaceutical education and/or research and a commitment to safe, rational, economic drug therapy and healthcare.
Leo F. and Ann Godley Residency Fellowship Award Presented to: Faith Anne Rutherford, PharmD Award Criteria: Demonstrates a commitment to the profession of pharmacy through service, practice, education, research and/or other activities. Includes a $500 stipend from the TSHP Research & Education Foundation.
Lewis S. Smith Pharmacy Practitioner Award Mike Knapp Pharmacy Technician Award Presented to: Sherrie M. Myers, RPhT Award Criteria: Demonstrates exemplary accomplishments which foster the advancement of patient care and/or the profession of pharmacy.
New Pharmacist Award Presented to: Trager Hintze, PharmD, BCCCP Award Criteria: Demonstrates exceptional involvement in the creation of or participating in best practices relating to patient care. Licensed to practice within the last 5 years.
Pharmacy Leadership Award Presented to: Thomas Roduta, PharmD, BCPS, MS Award Criteria: Demonstrates leadership and vision in advancing the practice and profession and improving patient care.
Pharmacy Mentor Award Presented to: Reba Forbess, PharmD, PhD, CPPS Award Criteria: Demonstrates active involvement in the professional growth and development of other pharmacy practitioners, residents, fellows or students as it relates to the provision of patient care.
Residency Program Excellence Award Award Criteria: Programs should be ASHP-accredited, have a track record of having a positive influence on the careers of residency graduates, employ unique and innovative methods for teaching and quality improvement; provide an excellent practice environment for residency training and learning; and have an organized process for the development of excellent residency preceptors.
