The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists sent out a message July 15 directed at members impacted by Hurricane Beryl, a devastating storm that ripped through Texas earlier this month.

The email reads:

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of your ASHP family, please know we are thinking of you and your loved ones who have been affected by Hurricane Beryl. ASHP is profoundly saddened by the loss of life, the hardships faced by everyone in the hurricane’s path, and the thought of the difficult and disruptive recovery ahead.
Pharmacists and other healthcare providers always step up during and after natural disasters. We know that you and your colleagues work tirelessly on behalf of patients despite facing personal losses and uncertainty about the disaster’s effects on your own home and family. ASHP greatly appreciates your courage, resilience, and dedication.
As recovery efforts in your area continue, we are ready and available to assist our members in any way we can. Please reach out to ASHP’s vice president of member relations, Hannah Vanderpool (hvanderpool@ashp.org or 301-664-8732) or ASHP’s chief operating officer and senior vice president, Kasey Thompson (kthompson@ashp.org or 301-664-8663), if we can be of assistance.
We hope you remain safe and that your community is able to fully heal and recover as it copes with the effects of these destructive storms.
Sincerely,
Paul W. Abramowitz, PharmD, ScD, (Hon), FASHP, ASHP CEO

TSHP thanks ASHP for their concern and joins them in offering any help we possibly can to our fellow Texans hit by this terrible storm.
