Joseph awarded with the 2025 Mike Knapp Pharmacy Technician Award

The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) is proud to announce that Leslie M. Joseph is the recipient of the 2025 Mike Knapp Pharmacy Technician Award. 

TSHP annually recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations within our community for excellence and a commitment to advancing healthcare and pharmacy practice in Texas. The awardees are selected by the TSHP Board of Directors based on nominations submitted by TSHP members.

A technician earns this award by demonstrating exemplary accomplishments which foster the advancement of patient care and/or the profession of pharmacy.

Leslie is an experienced pharmacy technician, educator, and industry leader with over a decade of experience in the field. Originally from Houston, TX, Leslie has been a certified pharmacy technician since 2010 and has spent the last three years in academia, working to enhance pharmacy technician education. Their journey includes her position as an instructional lab manager at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy (UHCOP), where they have contributed to the growth and development of future pharmacy professionals.

Beyond their work in education, Leslie serves as the Technician Section Co-Chair for the Gulf Coast Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GCSHP), advocating for technician advancement and professional development. With a passion for mentorship and leadership, they continuously seek ways to elevate pharmacy practice and education.

Leslie enjoys spending time with family and embracing personal growth outside of work. She believes in self-confidence and empowerment, living by the mantra: “I am confident, beautiful, and intelligent. I embrace who I am and trust in my worth.” This philosophy fuels their dedication to professional excellence and personal development.

In addition to their professional achievements, Leslie is Driven, knowledgeable, and passionate about education; Leslie continues to make a lasting impact in the pharmacy profession.

This honor was presented April 4 at the 2025 Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) Annual Seminar in Irving, TX, at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. TSHP’s Annual Seminar is the largest educational and networking meeting of pharmacists, new practitioners, students, technicians, and industry professionals in Texas. With a focus on quality patient care and medication safety, registrants may select from dozens of hours of live programming each year. TSHP Annual Seminar programs are designed to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of pharmacy professionals in health-systems across Texas.
