The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists Research & Education Foundation (TSHP R&E Foundation) is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Eustacio Galvan Memorial Scholarship is Jaclyn Moreno.
The Eustacio Galvan Memorial Scholarship was established in 2003 to honor Eustacio Galvan, a Past President of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (1971-1972) and a former member of the Board of Directors of the R&E Foundation. Eustacio was a local leader in health-system pharmacy practice in the Houston-Galveston area while serving for 34 years as the Director of Pharmacy at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. A 1959 graduate of the University of Texas College of Pharmacy, Eustacio promoted improvements in the practice of pharmacy during his entire professional career. Preference is given to applicants who are of Hispanic/Latino descent.
Jaclyn Moreno is a second-year student pharmacist pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy (FSOP). Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a Concentration in Management and minor in Biology while completing her pre-pharmacy pre-requisites at the University of the Incarnate Word. At FSOP, Jaclyn currently serves as Vice President and Class of 2027 Senator for her institution’s Student Government Association, President-Elect for her chapter’s Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Honor Society, Student Ambassador, active committee member for the Texas Pharmacy Association and Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy, and member of the American Pharmacists Association, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Rho Chi Honor Society, and National Hispanic Pharmacists Association.
In her free time, Jaclyn enjoys mentoring students and educating her community on how to save lives as an American Heart Association CPR/BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor. Following the completion of her PharmD/MBA, Jaclyn’s current aspirations are to pursue residency within one of her clinical interests of critical care, pediatrics, or solid organ transplant where she can actively serve diverse patient populations, contribute to clinical research, and precept the next generation of pharmacist leaders.
This honor was presented April 4 during the 2025 Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) Annual Seminar at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Irving, TX. TSHP’s Annual Seminar is the largest educational and networking meeting of student
pharmacists, career pharmacists, new practitioners, technicians, and industry professionals in Texas. With a focus on quality patient care and medication safety, registrants may select from many educational and networking activities, including dozens
of hours of live programming each year and events catered to students as well as. TSHP Annual Seminar programs are designed to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of pharmacy professionals in health-systems across Texas.
