Ada Oyeka is a fourth-year pharmacy student at Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, who earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology before pursuing her passion for pharmacy. Her journey has been fueled by a deep commitment to optimizing patient health outcomes and finding innovative ways to improve access to quality healthcare. Throughout pharmacy school, Ada has taken on leadership and mentorship roles, always looking for ways to uplift those around her. She previously served as president of the TSU Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP), a tutor for the TSU College of Pharmacy, TSU representative for the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists Student Section Executive Committee, and TSU student representative for the Gulf Coast Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GCSHP). Her active involvement in several professional organizations has helped shape her perspective on pharmacy and leadership.
Currently, Ada serves as Chief Intern in the Memorial Hermann Longitudinal Pharmacist Internship Program (MINT), where she has gained invaluable hands-on experience in healthsystem pharmacy. She has used this opportunity not only to refine her clinical and leadership skills but also to embrace the unpredictable and ever-evolving nature of pharmacy practice. As Ada looks ahead to graduation, she is excited to see where life takes her next. More than anything, she plans to enjoy the journey, embrace the growth, and make the most of every opportunity that comes her way. Outside of pharmacy, she loves traveling, volunteering, and spending quality time with family and friends.
