The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists Research & Education Foundation (TSHP R&E Foundation) is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Micheline & Bourjois Abboud Scholarship is Larosina Benadam Zonblan.

The Micheline & Bourjois Abboud Scholarship is created to provide qualified non-Texas residents with an opportunity to complete a pharmacy education. The goal of the Abboud Scholarship is to promote academic excellence and to afford an opportunity for a student who moved to Texas to pursue a degree in pharmacy with financial need to reach their fullest potential.

Larosina Benadam is pursuing a dual degree in Doctor of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and a Master of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Texas Health’s McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics. She is deeply committed to patient-centered care and aims to enhance patient outcomes through compassionate practice and innovative solutions.

Larosina has extensive experience in the pharmacy field, having worked as both a pharmacy technician and a pharmacist intern in retail and hospital settings, gaining valuable insights and skills in these roles. Additionally, Larosina volunteers with Education Connection, where she helps young students improve their literacy skills through reading. She has been actively involved with organizations that support underserved communities for over a decade.

Believing that leadership plays a crucial role in fostering stronger communities, Larosina has taken on positions that allow her to make a lasting impact. As Co-Chair of the Operation Immunization Committee, with UT-APhA-ASP she has contributed to public health initiatives by promoting vaccine awareness and accessibility. As Service Chair for the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, she has helped organize outreach efforts to support underserved populations.

Larosina aims for a career in infectious disease, focusing on integrating clinical expertise, biomedical informatics, and research to enhance antimicrobial stewardship and treatment regimens. She is keen on using data-driven insights to improve patient care, reduce hospital-acquired infections, and support evidence-based decision-making. By combining technology with patient care and community engagement, she hopes to advance public health initiatives that enhance healthcare accessibility and outcomes.

This honor was presented April 4 during the 2025 Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) Annual Seminar at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Irving, TX. TSHP’s Annual Seminar is the largest educational and networking meeting of student pharmacists, career pharmacists, new practitioners, technicians, and industry professionals in Texas.
