The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists Research & Education Foundation (TSHP R&E Foundation) is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Phyllis B. Ginsburg Memorial Scholarship is Glory Anne Garcia.

The Phyllis B. Ginsburg Memorial Scholarship was established in 1997 in memory of the mother of TSHP member and Past-President Diane Ginsburg.

"I am a P3 student at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. I currently serve as the Vice President of Communications for SSHP and am actively involved in professional organizations such as SNPhA, IPhO, and Kappa Psi," said Garcia. "As a pharmacy intern at Legacy Community Health in Houston, I have developed a deep passion for serving underserved communities. Through my internship, I have participated in health fairs, led patient education initiatives, and coordinated a student-led conference focused on combating HIV. These experiences have not only strengthened my appreciation for the vital role pharmacists play in community health but have also allowed me to grow professionally which will enhance my leadership, communication, and clinical skills.

"I aspire to pursue a pharmacy residency to continue advocating for and supporting underserved populations while further developing my expertise," continued Garcia. "In my free time, I enjoy catching up on shows and movies, exploring new coffee shops, and indulging in a little retail therapy."

This honor was presented April 4 during the 2025 Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) Annual Seminar at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Irving, TX. TSHP’s Annual Seminar is the largest educational and networking meeting of student pharmacists, career pharmacists, new practitioners, technicians, and industry professionals in Texas. TSHP Annual Seminar programs are designed to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of pharmacy professionals in health-systems across Texas.
