A Texas pharmacist has been recognized at the national level for his tremendous support to Pharmacy Education.

Kirk Evoy, Pharm.D., BCACP, BC-ADM, CTTS, FCCP, FTSHP, has been named to the Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP) by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Evoy and others were recognized for this honor during the AACP Pharmacy Education 2025 annual meeting in Chicago July 19-22.

The goal of AACP's ALFP is to develop and support leaders in the Academy that contribute to the advancement of pharmacy education, higher education, and the pharmacy profession. The program provides an opportunity for Fellows to expand networking relationships with peers and colleagues in other institutions, as well as within their own college and university. The ALFP curriculum is reviewed annually to ensure content is contemporary and appropriate to the programs leadership objectives.

To qualify for the program, a person has to be an experienced faculty (typically at associate or full professor rank) or staff member who has demonstrated leadership at the college/university level and through national leadership and engagement. They are ready to explore advanced leadership concepts to take on new leadership challenges as their career advances.

Kirk Evoy, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CTTS, FCCP, is President-Elect of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP). Kirk also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at University Health in San Antonio. In this role he also directs an ambulatory care residency program. He is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BC-ACP), Advanced Diabetes Manager (BC-ADM), and Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) and a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (FCCP).
