Board of Directors positions elected, items passed

As our organization prepares to begin a new leadership chapter, we are delighted to announce the results of the 2024 TSHP Ballot. This year’s election sought your guidance on items of vital importance to our community’s future and industry relevance.

 

Resolution for TSHP Name Change

In recognition of our Society's unwavering dedication to advocating for optimized patient care, professional practice, and public health, we sought approval to evolve our organizational identity. We are delighted to announce the successful approval of the resolution for TSHP’s Name Change. 

Together, we are embarking on an exciting journey of transition to be known as the:

Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy

 

Bylaws Proposals

We are thrilled to announce the successful adoption of the proposed bylaws amendments presented to our esteemed members.

The proposed amendments were crafted with careful consideration and aimed at enhancing the effectiveness, transparency, and inclusivity of our governance structure. We are grateful for the invaluable feedback and input received from our members throughout this process, which has been instrumental in shaping the outcome.

  

Key highlights of the adopted bylaws proposals include:

  • Relocation of policy guidance language to migrate to the Policies & Procedures organizational documents.

  • Formation of the Finance Committee and appropriately naming the Treasurer as Finance Committee Chair, per IRS guidance.

  • Indemnification of Officers.

Kirk Evoy, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CTTS, FCCP – Kirk currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at University Health in San Antonio. In this role he also directs an ambulatory care residency program. He is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BC-ACP), Advanced Diabetes Manager (BC-ADM), and Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) and a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (FCCP).

Description automatically generatedKathleen Morneau Ready, PharmD, BCPS – Katie is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Medical ICU and Antimicrobial Stewardship at the South Texas VA in San Antonio. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from St. Mary’s University and completed her PharmD at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore. She went on to a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN and completed a PGY2 Critical Care residency at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. She holds academic appointments as adjoint faculty at UT Health Science Center and clinical preceptor at UT College of Pharmacy and University of the Incarnate Word.
